Return policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2025

At BarterSetu, we aim to facilitate transparent, fair, and trustworthy barter transactions. Since we operate as a marketplace and not a direct seller, all returns must be handled between the exchanging parties. However, we do provide a framework to support disputes and returns when necessary.


1. Responsibility of Users

BarterSetu does not own, inspect, or guarantee the items listed on the platform. Each user is fully responsible for:

  • Accurately describing the item or service offered

  • Agreeing upon the condition and terms before exchange

  • Resolving return requests directly with the other party


2. Return Eligibility

Returns may be considered valid under the following circumstances:

  • The item received is significantly different from the listing description

  • The item is damaged or non-functional, and this was not disclosed prior to exchange

  • The service provided was not delivered as promised

All return agreements must be documented via BarterSetu’s internal messaging or communication system.


3. Return Process

  1. Initiate Request: The buyer must contact the seller within 1 days of receiving the item or service.

  2. Resolution Window: The parties have 7 days to agree on a solution (return, exchange, or compensation).

  3. Report to BarterSetu: If no resolution is found, either party may escalate the issue to our support team:

4. BarterSetu Mediation

While we do not guarantee a resolution, BarterSetu may review:

  • Communication between both users

  • Listing details and item photos

  • Any agreed-upon conditions before the exchange

We reserve the right to issue warnings, suspend accounts, or ban repeat violators.


5. No Return Scenarios

Returns may be denied in the following cases:

  • Buyer’s remorse (i.e., you changed your mind)

  • Item was correctly described, and no issues were found

  • Perishable, digital, or customized items where returns were not agreed in advance

  • Returns requested after 1 days of item delivery


6. Return Shipping (If Applicable)

If the return of a physical item is agreed:

  • The returning party bears the shipping cost, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Both parties should use trackable shipping methods to ensure accountability.


7. Platform Liability

BarterSetu is not responsible for:

  • Items lost or damaged during return shipping

  • Disputes not reported within the timeline

  • Non-cooperation by users in facilitating a return
